If your child develops a cavity, we’ll guide you through the best treatment options to restore their tooth and keep their smile healthy. Our focus is always on gentle, effective care tailored to your child’s needs.

Fillings:
We use esthetic tooth-colored filling materials, such as composite, to restore small cavities. In certain situations, we may also recommend Equia Forte HT, another tooth-colored material selected based on your child’s specific dental needs.

Crowns:
When a cavity extends deeper into a tooth, a regular filling may no longer provide enough strength and protection. In these situations, a crown may be recommended to restore and protect the tooth. For front teeth, we may place a white composite or zirconia crown. For back teeth, we may recommend a stainless steel (silver) crown or a white zirconia crown, depending on your child’s individual needs.

Extractions:
If a baby tooth has a severe infection, significant decay, is causing pain, or has been affected by trauma, removing the tooth may be the best option to protect your child’s oral health and comfort. We perform gentle tooth extractions and provide a personalized follow-up plan to help maintain proper spacing and support healthy bite development.

Baby Root Canal (Pulpotomy):
A pulpotomy, is called a baby root canal, is used to save a baby tooth when decay reaches the nerve. By removing the affected tissue and sealing the tooth, we can relieve discomfort, prevent infection, and help maintain the tooth until it naturally falls out.

Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF):
SDF is a painless treatment that is brushed directly onto a cavity to help slow or stop its progression. It may be used as a temporary option to delay treatment until your child is ready for a filling or to help maintain a tooth until it naturally falls out.

SDF requires good daily oral hygiene and ongoing monitoring, as cavities can still progress over time. A common effect of SDF is that the treated cavity area will turn black, while the healthy tooth structure remains unchanged.
